Changsha is one of the important key cities in the south China, whose comprehensive strength is among the top of China. Its economic aggregate ranks in the second place in the middle region of China, which is only second to Wuhan, the leading city in the central region. Meanwhile, Changsha is committed to building an open cultural city in the central region and a world-class tourist city with significant international influence.
Nowadays, Changsha is working together with Wuhan, Nanchang and Hefei to build an urban agglomeration along the middle reaches of Yangtze River, in concert with the Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River Delta, to create national planning key area and new growth pole of national regional development.
The city has jurisdiction over six districts, two counties and one city: Changsha City (Furong District, Tianxin District, Yuelu District, Kaifu District, Yuhua District, Wangcheng District) and Changsha County, Ningxiang County, Liuyang City; altogether over 82 streets, 95 towns, 14 villages.
